NaNoWriMo Day 27!

IMPENDING NEWS: I HAVE WON NANOWRIMO. I REPEAT: I HAVE WON NANOWRIMO.

Today has been a ridiculously happy day for me, because I won NaNoWriMo and finished The Last Dragomir in its entirety! Here are the stats:

2014-11-26: 46,666
2014-11-27: 50,613

Yep, I wrote nearly 4,000 words today!!!

The Last Dragomir clocked in at 50,613 words, 194 pages, and Twenty-Five chapters full of Magick, Darkness, Dragons, warriors, and evil queens. I never thought it would be possible for me to finish NaNo early, but it happened, and I couldn't be happier!

Yes, I will be editing this, and yes, I will be documenting the process as often as I can, but it will not be like this month: it will probably be, like, once a week from now on, until CAMP NaNoWriMo arrives!! Yeah, I know, I'm digging myself a mass grave to put myself in, but I DON'T CARE....I LOVE IT!

*Sorry for getting that song stuck in your head now!* #sorrynotsorry

But yeah, I'm not going to be posting here for the duration of the month, because I won't have anything to update on. I will be posting on December 1, when I get my WINNER GOODIES, and then I'll be posting from then on as I attempt to go through my book (hopefully in printed format) and edit it.

Editing has never been my strong suit, and I absolutely hate it, because it is such an arduous process and a complicated one at that. BUT I WILL DO IT THIS TIME! I PROMISE! And I might even begin to write the SECOND DRAFT, or edit All Of My Beautiful Wickedness. One or the other, really.

Goodnight everyone, and for those of us in the US: Happy Thanksgiving! For those in other countries who are (hopefully) reading this blog: Happy Thursday!

Keep writing!

Give me a moment you were ridiculously proud of yourself and tell me in the comments below!

4,510 words written today! Unfortunately, I had GLEE today, so I could not properly participate in #10kTuesday, but I did do a pretty good #4kTuesday! And I'm thinking of doing something really insane...

I'm thinking of either finishing NaNoWriMo tomorrow or on Thursday, Thanksgiving...

I know! It's crazy how just a week ago I was struggling to try and catch up, and thinking that I probably wasn't going to be able to complete this book...but look at me now! I am writing 4,000+ words a day, and I'm all caught up for the day, and a I reached the word count for tomorrow!

Okay, I'm going off to bed because I am now delirious and I probably sound crazy in this post...yeah, good night and I'll see you tomorrow!!

Do you have any advice for struggling NaNoers?

NaNoWriMo Day 24!

OMG guys...today was such a beautiful day in terms of writing for me! I am so excited to share my stats with you that I'm pretty much skipping over the introduction!

Here are The Last Dragomir's stats:

2014-11-01: 4,055
2014-11-02: 6,326
2014-11-03: 9,000
2014-11-04: 10,401
2014-11-05: 11,467
2014-11-06: 11,489
2014-11-07: 11,489
2014-11-08: 13,467
2014-11-09: 13,736
2014-11-10: 15,099
2014-11-11: 19,023
2014-11-12: 19,023
2014-11-13: 19,023
2014-11-14: 22,726
2014-11-15: 22,726
2014-11-16: 22,935
2014-11-17: 27,000
2014-11-18: 27,089
2014-11-19: 27,274
2014-11-20: 28,711
2014-11-21: 29,291
2014-11-22: 29,291
2014-11-23: 32,081
2014-11-24: 38,919

Yeah, you read those stats correctly! I wrote nearly 7,000 words today! The reason I got this much today is because of WORD SPRINTS. They are literally saving my word count. And while I was kind of shooting for at least, like, an 8k day, I am still extremely proud of what I've written. The story seems to be coming to a close, as it should be, and I am super pumped for the last chapter I have outlined, but I'm not letting myself write it yet since I write chronologically.

Usually, my outlines are very loose and have some wiggle room, so that, if I need to, I can change a few things around and still come out to the same conclusion. But for this time, I had a really loose outline, that I haven't really been sticking to, now that I think of it. I've just been looking at it to see where I originally wanted to go with the story, and compare it to how I want it to go now.

Alright, guys, that's going to be it from me for tonight! I'll see you tomorrow, and I'll hopefully have at leafs 9k, because tomorrow is....

10k Tuesday!! (Hosted by katytastic, @kat_tastic)

I'm really pumped to do it, so I hope I get a lot of words done tomorrow!

Are you going to participate in katytastic's 10k Tuesday? Tell me in the comments below!

NaNoWriMo Day 21, 22 & 23!

I am a terrible blogger, I know. But at least I'm here today, right? Right now, I am in the middle of writing a pretty cool scene--if I do say so myself--and I just wanted to give an update before the stroke of midnight!

Here are the stats so far for me!

2014-11-01: 4,055
2014-11-02: 6,326
2014-11-03: 9,000
2014-11-04: 10,401
2014-11-05: 11,467
2014-11-06: 11,489
2014-11-07: 11,489
2014-11-08: 13,467
2014-11-09: 13,736
2014-11-10: 15,099
2014-11-11: 19,023
2014-11-12: 19,023
2014-11-13: 19,023
2014-11-14: 22,726
2014-11-15: 22,726
2014-11-16: 22,935
2014-11-17: 27,000
2014-11-18: 27,089
2014-11-19: 27,274
2014-11-20: 28,711
2014-11-21: 29,291
2014-11-22: 29,291
2014-11-23: 32,081

YAY! I wrote 2,790 words for the day! I am still going to continue to write tonight, but I wanted to get this blog post out of the way before I did any such thing.

As you can see, I wrote very little on the 20-22. Those days I just didn't feel motivated to write my book anymore, and the infamous Doubt was telling me things like this:

"You can't possibly write this book by the 30th of November! It is impossible. You're going to fail miserably and you'll be a failure as an author and as a student trying to prioritize!"

Yeah, my Doubt is real mean...

But anyway, I listened to Doubt those two fateful days (and all those other days that I didn't write, yeah that was Doubt's fault too! [though I guess it's my fault too since I listened to Doubt, but anyway]).

My piece of advice for today is this: DO NOT LISTEN TO DOUBT! Doubt it a sneaky little bastard and can make you believe things that are totally not true about yourself, and make you want to just be done right then and there. But you have to keep pushing on! I'm going to start taking this advice and write the last 18,000 or so words left of my novel before the end of this month.

And I'm going to win NaNoWriMo. And I'm going to be proud of myself. And I'm probably going to drink a lot of coffee and get very little sleep (but what's new?)

Good night everybody!

Have you ever listened to Doubt's ministrations? Any advice for pushing that little voice away?

NaNoWriMo Day 18, 19 & 20!

Hey all, and I am sorry because, once again, I have failed in my duties as a blogger. I have been lax in my duties to you, and for that I am extremely sorry...forgive me? Also, I have a legitimate excuse: I didn't write anything in my book, so I had nothing to update on. Because that was my whole point for this blog: to document my journey as I try to write and publish one of my books, whether it be The Last Dragomir, or All Of My Beautiful Wickedness, it WILL be one of them!

Alright, let's take a look at the very sad stats so far:

2014-11-01: 4,055
2014-11-02: 6,326
2014-11-03: 9,000
2014-11-04: 10,401
2014-11-05: 11,467
2014-11-06: 11,489
2014-11-07: 11,489
2014-11-08: 13,467
2014-11-09: 13,736
2014-11-10: 15,099
2014-11-11: 19,023
2014-11-12: 19,023
2014-11-13: 19,023
2014-11-14: 22,726
2014-11-15: 22,726
2014-11-16: 22,935
2014-11-17: 27,000
2014-11-18: 27,089
2014-11-19: 27,274
2014-11-20: 28,711

I didn't write as much as I would have originally liked (~2,500 words or under) but I wrote something, and that's all that matters, right? That I write something to further myself in the finishing of my novel.

Okay, that'll be it for today! I'm not going to promise tomorrow, because WHO FREAKING KNOWS? I hope I'll write on this blog, but I can't count on anything because I have no idea how my day will look until I sit down and right... Actually, that was a lie, I do know something I'm going to be doing to tomorrow: going to my school's production of Pippin with my friends, and get Extra Credit in English and Health 1!

Bye guys!

Do you forgive me for being a crappy blogger?

NaNoWriMo Day 15, 16 & 17!

Hi guys! Sorry the last two days haven't had any posts...it's just that I haven't written anything. That is, until today...I had the goal of writing 5,000 or so words today, and while I did not meet that goal (looks like no binge-watching Revenge tonight!) I still wrote quite a lot of my NaNo book. In case you didn't know, it's called The Last Dragomir. And here are it stats:

2014-11-01: 4,055
2014-11-02: 6,326
2014-11-03: 9,000
2014-11-04: 10,401
2014-11-05: 11,467
2014-11-06: 11,489
2014-11-07: 11,489
2014-11-08: 13,467
2014-11-09: 13,736
2014-11-10: 15,099
2014-11-11: 19,023
2014-11-12: 19,023
2014-11-13: 19,023
2014-11-14: 22,726
2014-11-15: 22,726
2014-11-16: 22,935
2014-11-17: 27,000

Guys! I passed the halfway mark! I am so, unbelievably happy about this, I can't even! Okay, and now, I am going to share a very small excerpt from Chapter Four, where a little bit of action comes into play and such. Here it is:

"A man came out from the shadows then, right behind Joel. Joel was expecting it, though. He dodged the blade outstretched towards him, and he pulled a dagger out from his side and stabbed it through the man’s head. He fell to the ground, dead.

Cortana could barely think, could barely breathe. Everything was happening so fast, and now Joel was leaving.

“Wait! Please, don’t go! I want to know more!” called Cortana. But Joel didn’t stop, and continued running up the steps.

Leaving Cortana with her thoughts and a dead body."

Yes, I am particularly proud of that section because it is kind of creepy, action-y, cool-y, and things like that.

Also, I wanted to give you all a heads up: I may not post here tomorrow, because I have GLEE tomorrow until 5:00pm, then I have to come home, get dressed, and go to an alumni dinner for my old school at 6:00pm, get home by 8:30pm, and then try to get some of my homework done somewhere in that time. So I may not get a lot of writing done, but it will be some, I can guarantee you that. I don't want to get 5,000 words behind again...now I'm only 3,000 words behind! Yay....

Okay, see you (maybe) tomorrow, or Wednesday!!!

NaNoWriMo Day 14!

Hi guys, sorry this is up so late, but I was hanging with my family and writing like a madman, so I didn't have a chance to write up this post. Alrighty then, now that we're over with the apologies, here are the stats so far:

2014-11-01: 4,055
2014-11-02: 6,326
2014-11-03: 9,000
2014-11-04: 10,401
2014-11-05: 11,467
2014-11-06: 11,489
2014-11-07: 11,489
2014-11-08: 13,467
2014-11-09: 13,736
2014-11-10: 15,099
2014-11-11: 19,023
2014-11-12: 19,023
2014-11-13: 19,023
2014-11-14: 22,726

As you can see, I wrote A BUNCH today! That's 3,703 words written today! I almost caught up the entire way, but I got lazy towards the end and decided I'd just write the 2,000 or so I have left tomorrow, and probably a little more so I can get ahead.

In other news, I went back to school today after having been absent all week. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, and right when I walked into my first period class everyone screamed, "KAM IS BACK!" and ran to give me hugs. And then they backed away and asked if I still had Ebola...oh teenagers!

Okay then, I'll see you bright eyed and bushy tailed tomorrow with an all new word count!

Do your friends do weird things when you come back from being sick? Tell me in the comments below!

NaNoWriMo Day 12 & 13!

Hey there, and sorry I didn't post anything yesterday: I spent the day with my family and went to the doctors, so I didn't get a chance to do much in terms of writing. BTW: I am fine, just got a nasty virus that decided to LEAVE MY BODY WHEN I GOT TO THE DOCTORS OFFICE LIKE WTF?

Anyway, today, I haven't written anything either...

BRING ON THE JUDGEMENT, I KNOW. But I just wasn't very....inspired...to write. I mean, I wanted to write, but it just didn't seem like enough. So I didn't write today, but I promise I'll write tomorrow, at least enough to get to what today's goal was.

In other news, my fav show (not The Flash, but The Vampire Diaries [judge me...I don't care....I like the drama and the romance and..yeah, you get the picture]) is starting to get pretty serial. On tonight's episode, I was literally sitting on my couch just chanting this: "KISS HER DAMMIT IT WILL FIX EVERYTHING COME ON YOU'RE ALL STUPID AND I AM SMART I DON'T LIKE YOU NEVERMIND I LOVE YOU OMG WHY WON'T YOU KISS HER YOU SON OF A B**CH!"

Note: If you've ever wondered what my mind is like, the above is pretty much what it is word for word.

Alright, that's it for me tonight. I'll see you all tomorrow with a new update!

Have you ever felt uninspired to write? Tell me below!

NaNoWriMo Day 11!

Hi there! Today was a very successful writing day for me!! I got 3,924 words written today (score: 1 for me, score: 0 for Doubt) and I'm all caught up with what I'm supposed to be at. Anyways, here's the stats so far for me, all compiled in a nice, organized list:

2014-11-01: 4,055
2014-11-02: 6,326
2014-11-03: 9,000
2014-11-04: 10,401
2014-11-05: 11,467
2014-11-06: 11,489
2014-11-07: 11,489
2014-11-08: 13,467
2014-11-09: 13,736
2014-11-10: 15,099
2014-11-11: 19,023

YAY ME! I GOT THINGS DONE TODAY!

Alright, I'm off to bed because I'm planning on going to school tomorrow and I need to feel better to do so. Call me crazy, but I don't want to miss more than I have to in my ALL HONORS CLASSES...once, my friend missed only three days (she has all honors like me) because she was sick, and she had to stay after school ever day for a week to make up tests, homework, labs (in the case of science), and classwork. I don't plan on having that happen to me...

How are you feeling? Better than me, I hope...

NaNoWriMo Day 9 & 10!

Hello, and again, I am sorry for not posting yesterday. I came down with an unexpected 100 degree fever and didn't write anything, didn't do anything, and basically just binge-watched Pretty Little Liars...don't judge...

Alrighty, here are the stats:

2014-11-01: 4,055
2014-11-02: 6,326
2014-11-03: 9,000
2014-11-04: 10,401
2014-11-05: 11,467
2014-11-06: 11,489
2014-11-07: 11,489
2014-11-08: 13,467
2014-11-09: 13,736
2014-11-10: 15,099

I WROTE THINGS TODAY! And I stayed home from school...and I got a lot of homework from my teachers because they love to torture children with paper and words and questions...

Alright, that's all I'm going to write for today!

See you tomorrow (hopefully)!

Comment if you watch this blog! I want to know if anyone's out there!

NaNoWriMo Day 7 & 8!

As you can see, I did not write anything on the 7th, so that is why there wasn't a post that day.

That is all for today (sorry this is so short! Longer one tomorrow, I promise) so I will see you tomorrow! Bye!

What's your word count for Day 8 of NaNoWriMo?

NaNoWriMo Day 6!

I did not write anything today. Literally, I only wrote 22 words...I don't think I'm even going to list all the stuff down below, because it was such a bad day in writing news. Let me explain myself:

I HAD HOMEWORK. A LOT. My History teacher gave us a report that has to be three paragraphs long with different criteria we HAVE to hit to get a good grade...and guess when it was due?

TOMORROW NOVEMBER 7, 2014

I was very displeased when I read this on the rubric...

Anyway, I also had some Science homework, Algebra 2 homework (I got to skip Algebra 1 for my Freshman year I'm so happy!), and also some English homework that's due tomorrow. And I'm expecting to get some stuff for the weekend, but that can all be done Sunday...right?

I promise you people who are reading this that I will have a larger word count for tomorrow and that it will be filled with words and news of words.

Bye!

Have you ever felt discouraged to write because of homework or other stuff? Has you History teacher ever given you impossible tasks to do in one night? Tell me your woes and I will listen!

NaNoWriMo Day 5!

Sup guys! Yes, I am posting today (again [what a shocker]) and here's my update:

2014-11-01: 4,055
2014-11-02: 6,326
2014-11-03: 9,000
2014-11-04: 10,401
2014-11-05: 11,467

Today, I wrote 1,066 words, not as much as I would have liked, but then again, I was extremely tired when I got home, and was struggling to get back into the rhythm of the story because I left off in the MIDDLE OF A CHAPTER yesterday...I don't really like doing that because I always feel like I haven't completed something, and then I can't figure out how it's supposed to end (!)

In other news, I combined two chapters that I had originally thought would be separate, but then saw that if I wanted to keep having 2,000+ word chapters (as a typical fantasy novel is) then I would have to combine the two unless I wanted to go into DEEP detail about torture! Yes, I know, it is such a fun thing to write about...*sarcasm*

Alright, that's all I have here today. I'll see you tomorrow on Day 6 of NaNoWriMo!

Have you had to make changes to your outline to fit the story this NaNo yet?

NaNoWriMo Day 3 & 4!

Hey, sorry I didn't post anything yesterday; I spent the whole day writing and doing homework. BUT, let's see my word count so far, shall we?

2014-11-01: 4,055
2014-11-02: 6,326
2014-11-03: 9,000
2014-11-04: 10,401

Yes! I surpassed the word count by A LOT yesterday, and today I only wrote a little bit. I'd planned on writing a whole lot more, but I just didn't have the motivation and I was too excited for something else that was just released TODAY...And those things are:

Maleficent and The Retribution of Mara Dyer

I have been waiting for Maleficent to come out on DVD ever since I saw the day it came out, way back in May.

And regarding The Retribution of Mara Dyer....I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR ALMOST TWO YEARS AND I AM SO HYPED FOR THIS FINALE YOU HAVE NO IDEA.

/End excitement.

Anyway...I think I might write a bit more tonight, but I'm not so sure...maybe I'll try to finish up the Chapter (Five)? Ugh, decisions, decisions...

Oh, also, if you want to become my writing buddy, here's the link to my profile: http://nanowrimo.org/participants/kamreadsyabooks I hope you become another one of my writing buddies!

How is you NaNo going?

NaNoWriMo Day 2!

Hello and happy NaNoWriMo Day 2!

Before we get into how I'm doing, let's look at some stats!

The stats below are what I'm at right now, at 6:30, on November 2. I'm probably going to write some more tonight--I'm planning to get to at least 7,000 tonight!--but I wanted to give an update for today before I forgot!

2014-11-01: 4,055 words
2014-11-02: 6,326 words

Yep, I have, so far, written 2,271 words TODAY. And I still want to write 674 more words so I can get to an even 7,000. I might even want to get 8,000, so that I can finish the fourth chapter...anyway, I'm getting ahead of myself. I still have to the rest of the night to figure this stuff out.

Alright, now, on to what has been happening with my book so far...

My book is going great! I'm so happy right now and the words are just flowing out of me as I write. I know this isn't going to last for long this month, so that's why I've been writing in big chunks. And this week, I expect to be writing a bit more than I would on an average week since I have off on November 4th (thank you Election Day!!)

And, this weekend, I've started watching a beautiful, beautiful show, and it's called...

The Flash

Don't look at me with that judgement, I can feel all the way through the screen! It's a good quality show and I'm liking it a lot (BTW: I ship Biris!)

Ok, I think that's a good enough update for today. Now, I'm going to go an watch Once Upon A Time because that stuff is just...beautiful!!!

What are your stats for NaNoWriMo so far?

NaNoWriMo Has Started!

Hello there again! Sorry it's been a while since I posted here, but I've been in school and I lost a friend of mine to cancer, and I had no motivation to write here anymore...I almost thought I wasn't going to do NaNoWriMo this year...

But guess what? I'm still doing it!

This year, NaNoWriMo is going to be tough for me, since I'm a Freshman in high school, and I'm in ALL HONORS CLASSES...that means two or more hours of homework every night. Anyway, let's get into the fun stuff of this post, shall we?

For NaNo2014, I am going to be writing an epic fantasy novel, and there are Dragons, epic battles between Dragons, extinct races of people who aren't really extinct, and a badass heroine who has to destroy the Dark Princess! I am really in love with this story, and I'm already 2,500 words into it on the first day! (The goal for November 1st [and every other day] is to write 1,667 words! I'm ahead of the game!!!) And I still have more that I want to write today. Do you want to know the title? Ok...well, the title is:

The Last Dragomir (The Dragomir Chronicles #1)

Yes, this is a series of books (four books to be exact) and I have the whole series mapped out before me, so I know what I have to foreshadow to. My plan for this NaNoWriMo is going to be very different from last year's plan. This year, I am going to write in big chunks on the days I have off from school (i.e. weekends and holidays) and then write bits and pieces on the other days. I am hoping that this will work out in my favor, but I won't know until I reach THE END of my book.

For this November, I am also planning on doing something I've never done before...I'm going to write a blog post ever day of NaNoWriMo and share my progress!! Isn't that exciting? I hope so. So yes, every day of NaNoWriMo, you people reading this blog, should be getting a post by yours truly.

Until next time!

What are you writing this NaNo? Tell me in the comments!
